How to calculate running pace

Pace is time divided by distance. 25 minutes for 5 km is 25 ÷ 5 = 5 minutes per km. To convert, multiply a per-km pace by 1.609 for per mile, and divide 60 by your pace in minutes for speed in km/h: 60 ÷ 5 = 12 km/h.

Pace for training, not just racing

Most of your running should be easy, at a pace where you can talk in full sentences, which for most people is 1 to 2 minutes per km slower than their 5K race pace. Save the hard paces for one or two sessions a week. The hybrid training guide shows how to fit those around lifting.

Track your runs alongside your lifting

Runs from Apple Watch come into Elevus through Apple Health and count toward your recovery, next to your strength training, so you can see whether your running is costing your lifts.
